Top 9 Most Expensive CS2 Knives

The CS2 skin market is famous for its extreme variety, but the highest price tags come from a specific formula. It is not enough to just have a "good knife" like a Karambit or M9 Bayonet; the value depends entirely on the combination of different variables:

  1. The Model: The base knife skin (like the Butterfly, Karambit, Skeleton).
  2. The Finish: The specific skin applied (e.g., Doppler, Case Hardened, Crimson Web).
  3. The Multipliers (Pattern, Float & StatTrak): While the model and finish set the baseline, specific "seeds" (like Blue Gems), StatTrak versions or flawless low-floats are what distinguish a standard market item from a collector's piece.

However, the market recently shifted due to the Knife Contracts. Historically, knives were unbox-only, but allowing players to craft them opened the supply floodgates, crashing the value of standard knives overnight.

And because of this crash, listing the "most expensive knives" comes with a major disclaimer.

  • Listing vs. Selling: You might see a Gamma Doppler Emerald listed for $60,000, but that doesn't mean anyone is buying it.
  • Liquidity Issues: After the trade-up updates, confidence is shaken. High-tier items are often stuck in "private sale" limbo where the theoretical value is high, but finding a buyer with cash in hand is much harder than it was a year ago.

With today's market reality in mind, we will cover the real Standard Market Value for high-tier finishes, showing what these skins actually sell for in the active, liquid market right now.

Karambit | Case Hardened Blue Gem (#387)

Counter-Strike 2 Karambit Blue Gem knife featuring a blue and purple patterned blade

Price: $1.5 million+

The Factory New Karambit | Case Hardened with Pattern #387 is widely considered the single most expensive skin in CS2 history and naturally, is the most expensive knife in Counter-Strike history.

It is a "1 of 1" item, meaning only one exists in the world in Factory New condition.

The immense value comes from the statistical improbability of unboxing it. To obtain this specific knife, you not only need to roll the rare chance of a knife and the Case Hardened finish, but you also need to hit the specific #387 pattern seed, which has roughly a 0.1% (1 in 1,000) chance of appearing. When you factor in the Factory New float and the StatTrakā„¢ that's available for this knife finish, the odds are effectively around 1 in 371 million.

Even if you use the new Knife Trade-Up Contracts, the odds of getting a #387 Blue Gem in Factory-New remain astronomically low.

Visually, this pattern is the definition of a "Blue Gem." The play side features a nearly completely blue blade, which is what collectors prize most. Interestingly, the back side of the knife is a standard mix of gold, yellow, and purple, but because the play side is pristine blue, the value is estimated at over $1.5 million (that stays true even after the market crash due to the contracts to knife update).

Butterfly Knife | Gamma Doppler Emerald

CS2 Butterfly Knife Emerald skin with vivid green marble blade and dual-handle design

Active Trading Price: $7,275 (MW) - $8,290 (FN)

The Butterfly Knife is generally considered the most expensive knife in CS2 (on average) as its skins consistently cost more than any other knife models across the same finishes. The only exception is the Karambit Case Hardened Blue Gem, which holds the record for the single most expensive knife ever sold.

Among Butterfly skins, the Gamma Doppler Emerald (a fully green pattern of the Butterfly Knife | Gamma Doppler) sits at the top.

M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald

CS2 M9 Bayonet Emerald skin with vivid green marble massive blade

Price: $6,924 (MW) - $7,100 (FN)

The Emerald finish gives a deep, radiant green that shines like a gem, almost making the blade look alive under different lighting conditions. The M9's huge blade makes the finish look even more detailed and striking.

Unboxing an Emerald doesn't happen every day, which is why it's worth so much. But beyond the rarity, what truly sets it apart is the smooth fade, shiny finish, and deep color that make it look high-end. When it comes to Gamma Doppler finishes, the Emerald is the crown jewel.

Another highly valuable skin on the M9 Bayonet is the Doppler Ruby, sitting in the $6,900 - $7,888 range with the same gem-like shine, just in deep red. Historically, though, the Emerald tends to command higher prices.

Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire

Counter-Strike 2 Butterfly Knife Sapphire with blue-purple gemstone blade and teal handle inlays

Price: $5,639 (MW) - $6,555 (FN)

The third most expensive knife goes again to the Butterfly Knife, but this time to the Doppler Sapphire.

Released back in March 2017 as part of the Spectrum Case ("Take a trip to the Canals" update), the Doppler Sapphire finish features a color scheme of various shades of blue, creating gradient transitions.

The best Sapphire patterns are those without dark lines on the blade. Patterns 602 and 72 are known as "Max Sapphire" and are considered the most valuable.

The Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire is only available in Factory New and Minimal Wear conditions, with float values ranging from 0.00 to 0.08, which adds to its value and looks. But due to its high price, this skin rarely appears in trades despite being highly sought-after.

Karambit | Doppler Sapphire

CS2 Karambit Sapphire skin showcasing deep blue crystalline blade with curved design

Price: $4,417 (FN) - $4,470 (MW)

From the same family as the Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire, the Karambit | Doppler Sapphire is also one of the most expensive Karambit skins, released in early 2015 with the "Full Spectrum" update.

Starting at a price of $4,417, this skin offers a pure blue, fully saturated blade with gemstone shine and a sleek black handle that make it one of the most valuable and expensive knives in CS2.

You can only find it in the Chroma Case. Or, you might get lucky trading up. But realistically, getting any knife from a case is already rare (around 1 in 385). Then you need that knife to roll Doppler (1 in 6 finishes), and then hit Sapphire specifically (roughly 2% of Dopplers). The odds are so low that most Sapphires enter the market through trade-ups nowadays, not unboxing.

Talon Knife | Doppler Ruby

CS2 Talon Knife Ruby featuring a red crystalline blade paired with ivory and gold handle

Price: $2,471 (MW) - $2,603 (FN)

Younger brother of the world-renowned Karambit, the Talon Knife is one of the most intimidating and exotic blades in CS2. With the Ruby finish on the blade, the Talon Knife becomes a pure jewel in a user’s inventory that stands out everywhere. The Ruby looks great on Talon Knife because it mixes fancy with fierce thanks to its sharp, curved shape and shiny red gem.

These knives are super hard to find since they don't show up often when you open cases. Because they are hard to get, they're worth a lot, making them one of the most wanted Doppler skins out there. It's the perfect pick if you want a knife that looks both high-class and deadly.

Bayonet | Doppler Black Pearl

CS2 Bayonet Black Pearl knife with dark iridescent purple blade and beige tactical handle

Price: $2,018 (MW) - $2040 (FN)

The Doppler Black Pearl is one of the best finishes you can get on a Bayonet.

It is being sold for around $1,730 making it the most expensive skin on a classic Bayonet. Unlike the bright and shiny Ruby or Sapphire versions, the Black Pearl has a cool mix of dark purples, blues, and hints of violet. In the light, it looks almost unreal: quiet, but still really eye-catching.

What makes the Black Pearl so wanted is how rare it is. It's the hardest Doppler phase to get, showing up in only a small number of drops. When you put this finish on the sleek Bayonet, you get a knife that feels elegant and lethal, all at once.

People who collect these knives love the Bayonet | Doppler Black Pearl because it's scarce and has a different aesthetic, which is dark, smooth, and unlike any other gemstone version. It’s a knife that doesn’t need bright colors to get noticed; its simple shine does the job.

Skeleton Knife | Crimson Web

Counter-Strike 2 Skeleton Knife Crimson Web with red spider-web patterned blade

Price: $234 (BS) - $2,500 (FN)

The Crimson Web is one of the most recognizable finishes in CS2. With 24 skins across knives and guns, it's one of the larger finish families, but the most expensive knife with this finish is the Skeleton Knife, released in 2019 with the "Operation Shattered Web" update.

The Crimson Web pattern is fascinating, as there are so many different variations of the same skin. In one Crimson Web finish, you can find the "Double Web" (a pattern that has two webs on the same blade) and these cost much more than default Crimson Web knives and the usual market price.

But the real prize is a Factory New Skeleton Knife with a perfectly placed web in the middle of the blade. The best patterns (28, 485, and 913) have sold in the past even for up to $20,000.
